The Canadian Fungal Research Network hosted our first conference!
July 29th & 30th, 2020 online on Microsoft Teams.
***Post-conference update (20.08.04)***
We are thrilled to announce the award winners of the Presentation Competition at our inaugural conference:
Competition was fierce but nevertheless, the judges felt that the high quality of eight additional presentations merited official honourable mentions as runner-ups:
No judging process is perfect. For this competition, we made several efforts to minimize the potential impact of implicit bias: talks were scored by two different judges, and all judges met after the conference to come to a unanimous decision based not only on the scores, but on securing a sample of awardees that was truly representative of the population of presenters as a whole.
And finally... congratulations to Dr. Vasilis Kokkoris, from the University of Ottawa on being awarded the prize for "Most Retweeted Tweet", which featured a stunning GIF rendition of multi-nucleated AMF spores.
Thank you to all speakers for participating and helping make this conference a success!

Talks will run both days from 1:00pm-6:00pm GMT-2:30 (NDT, i.e., Newfoundland), which is 8:30am-1:30pm GMT-8 (PDT, i.e., British Columbia) ... everyone else can figure it out, hopefully.
Virtual social hours/breakout rooms will be hosted following the talks. Please email us if you have an idea for a room.
Talk registration has closed.
